Cross Chemical's die lubricants have evolved since our beginning in 1958, from solvent based
products of yesterday, to some of the most sophisticated, environmentally friendly, water based
products available. Since 1990, Cross Chemical has placed a high emphasis on the development
of both synthetic and semi-synthetic chemistry which have resulted in products that have proven
to be among the highest performing and most cost competitive products in the entire industry.
Cross Chemical has developed a full line of conventional die lubricants that have been
specifically formulated for use in high pressure applications using aluminum, magnesium,
zinc, and brass casting alloys. These products are readily identified by the trade names:
Squeeze Casting Lubricants:

Cross Chemical has developed a full line of squeeze casting lubricants formulated with natural
and synthetic graphite, minerals, waxes, binders and polymers in various combinations to
achieve specific quality, process or casting objectives. These products are proven performers and
will provide added insulation, release and anti-solder while improving casting tensile strength,
yields and porosity requirements. These products are readily identified by the trade name:
Die Lubricants (semi-solid):

Cross Chemical has a complete line of release agents designed specifically for use in the semi-
solid process. These products provide the semi-solid process with additional metal fluidity,
release and excellent finish. These products are readily identified by the trade name:
Forging:

Cross Chemical has a complete line of lubricating agents designed specifically for use in the
ferrous and non-ferrous forging industry. These products incorporate the latest chemistries to provide
improved productivity through extended dilutions, less solder and superior lubrication. Our non-graphite and low-graphite formulations provide an added dimension to our forging line and
provide our forging customers viable options to meet the demanding environmental and

Stamping:

Cross Chemical offers a complete line of lubricants designed specifically for the stamping
industry. These products incorporate the latest chemistries and provide our stamping customers
with superior lubrication at extended dilutions for excellent economics on a variety of alloys
from steel to aluminum. These formulations provide outstanding stability and resistance to bio-fungal activity. Cross Chemicals stamping lubricants are extremely forgiving, non-staining and

Plunger Lubricants:

Cross Chemical has a complete line of plunger lubricants formulated for the extreme demands
and broad range of applications found in today's die casting environment. From synthetic and
semi-synthetic oil plunger lubricants, both graphite and non-graphite chemistries, to the latest dry
pellet and powder formulations. Cross Chemical has your shot tip and sleeve lubrication needs

Hydraulic Fluid:

Cross Chemical offers a high grade water glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid that meets the demands of today's high pressure (2000psi) high volume hydraulic systems where fire resistance is required. This fluid is a 200 SUS fluid with 40% water content and is completely compatible with most water glycol fluids. This product is readily identified by the trade name:
Quench Compounds:

Cross Chemical offers a complete line of synthetic and semi-synthetic quench compounds formulated for use in the die casting industry. These quench compounds provide excellent corrosion resistance to both aluminum, magnesium and zinc parts as well as mechanical components. Cross Chemical offers the die caster quench compounds that provide excellent stability, outstanding economical advantages and superior bio-fungal protection. Coolants:

Cross Chemical offers a complete line of coolants for secondary machining, grinding, roll forming, drilling and tapping of aluminum, magnesium and zinc die castings. These coolants provide outstanding sump life and tooling life and are extremely economical. The unique chemistries of these products provide superior heat dissipation resulting in improved tool life at economical dilutions. Ladle Coating:

Cross Chemical has a complete line of oil-based and water-based ladle coatings for the cast metal industry. These products have been designed with proprietary wetting agents, binders and extreme temperature additives to provide superior coverage and protection of ladles and metal components exposed to molten aluminum and non-ferrous alloys. Pin Lubricants and Die Protectants:

Cross Chemical offers a complete line of pin lubricants designed for lubrication of ejector pins and slides both during production and prior to storage. These products are oil and grease like in consistency with proprietary additives that offer superior lubrication of pins and slides at extreme operating temperatures. Trim Lubricants:

Cross Chemical has a complete line of trim lubricants for use in the aluminum, magnesium and zinc die cast industry. These trim lubricants are available in both water-base and oil-base (vanishing oil) chemistries and are non-gumming and non-staining. These products are formulated with proprietary lubricating additives and corrosion inhibitors to ensure superior lubrication of trim components while providing maximum corrosion protection of parts and tools. Start Up Lubricants:

Cross Chemical has a complete line of water-based and oil-based products designed for lubrication of the die, cores, pins and slides upon initial start up. Cross Chemical's start up lubricants are intended for use in aluminum, magnesium and zinc die casting operations. These lubricants provide added release for parts during the initial start up phase prior to running with conventional die release. They may be applied by spray, brush, mop and squirt bottle. THE OZONATOR - An electronic unit designed to control bacteria and fungus in lubricant tanks, lines and systems through the use of ozone. These systems greatly reduce the high cost of bacteria and fungicides while eliminating health and environmental concerns.
REFRACTOMETERS & LAMOTTE PORTABLE SPECTROMETER - Cross Chemical offers our customers two types of refractometers for use in determining dilution ratios of water soluble products. A hand held spectrometer from Atago which is easy to use and provides quick results, but may not provide the accuracy needed for today's demanding quality processes. Cross Chemical also offers a portable electronic spectrometer that you can hold in your hand to determine dilution ratios of mixed product. These units have been specifically designed for Cross Chemical to take advantage of the types of products commonly used in the die casting industry and are extremely accurate and easy to use.
